Technical Lead / Lead Data Engineer

Fast-growing global data analytics tech software company is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join their Australian division with the opportunity to work flexibly in either Sydney or Melbourne and contribute to their international success and portfolio.

Whilst remaining hands-on, you will be providing technical leadership, mentor other Data Engineers and be responsible for project delivery. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, delivering complex projects in enterprise companies, including major banks.

Key Requirements:

 

• Extensive data engineering experience.
• Highly skilled with Big Data technologies, such as Spark, Hadoop and Elasticsearch.
• Comfortable programming in Scala.
• Ideally experienced with data platforms hosted on Google Cloud (GCP).
• Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to other Data Engineers.
• Experience delivering complex enterprise Agile data projects.
• Ideally experience with AML/KYC.
• Ideally experience working in, or with senior stakeholders in, banking/finance.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical, and senior, stakeholders.
• A delivery / client-focused mindset.
