Software Engineer

Leading international proprietary trading firm at the forefront of the industry with their world-class technology and collaboration are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their fast-paced and diverse Sydney team.

 

Sitting within the technology team and liaising frequently with the CTO, you will assist in building their new core technologies that range from pre-trade, execution, and post-trade systems across multiple domains within the business. You will ideally have 4+ years relevant experience, with interest/exposure in trading and financial markets. You will be an all-rounder covering everything from analysis, development, and integration through to post-deployment support.

 

In this role you will be working collaboratively within smaller development teams with the goal to seamlessly maintain and enhance existing applications. As well as other technology teams, building out new core technologies using their brand-new technology stack. The ideal candidate for this role therefore will have experience working across multiple technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, C++, PostgresSQL, etc.

 

Role Requirements:

 

• Commercial experience with Java and at least one other programming language
• Experience working with database technologies such as MongoDB, mySQL or SQL Server
• Demonstrable experience supporting real-time systems in production
• Exposure in developing APIs and user interfaces
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic and highly organised, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
